South Gippsland Shire Brass Band - Band News
The South Gippsland Shire Brass Band has been an important part of the South Gippsland community serving it musically since 1892, the oldest community in Leongatha.
Since the last Newsletter the Band has been busy, having played at Mossvale “Music for the People”, Gippsland Band Group Day at Morwell, Anzac Day at Leongatha, Alchera Aged Care, Korumburra, and the Mothers’ Day Parade at Mirboo North. The Band is going back to Alchera in June for a concert and intends to enter the contest at the Latrobe Valley Eisteddfod in September.
THE BAND WELCOMES NEW MEMBERS
Perhaps you have just moved into the area, can play an instrument, or just want to learn. We have a modest membership fee and supply instruments and uniforms. We play a wide range of music from classics to pop. If you just enjoy music and would like to come along and listen, you would be most welcome. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings at 7.30 pm at the Leongatha Courthouse or contact Darryl Hunt on 5662 3623.
