About Leongatha
Leongatha is located in the South East of Victoria Australia, 130 km from Melbourne.
Leongatha is the shopping and tourism hub of South Gippsland, with an excellent variety of accommodation, eateries, and shops.
Things to do include Walking, Cycling, Horseriding with the Great Southern Rail Trail nearby. We have a cinema, and a large range of sporting facilities in our town including Indoor Aquatic centre & Basketball stadium, Football, Tennis, Netball, Golf, Table Tennis & Badminton.
The population of Leongatha is 5200. The average temperature is 24C in summer and 13C in winter.
Our rich fertile land is perfect for our main industry of primary production (milk and beef).
We have an excellent education precinct catering from preschool to tertiary (tafe) students.
